Paris Runway to head to Milan Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027: Prada Opens as Moschino, Gucci and Fendi Shape the Week

Milan Fashion Week will return from Tuesday, September 22, through Monday, September 28, 2026, with a Spring/Summer 2027 schedule built around strategic time changes, closely watched second collections and a new creative-director debut at Moschino.

Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has confirmed the seven-day womenswear dates, while the newly released calendar lists 54 physical runway shows and six digital presentations. The season arrives directly after London Fashion Week and overlaps with the opening day of Paris Fashion Week on September 28, creating another tightly compressed transition for editors, buyers and traveling show teams.

Prada moves to opening day

One of the most notable changes is Prada’s move to Tuesday, September 22. The house will open the principal runway schedule at 2 p.m. local time, shifting away from its familiar Thursday-afternoon position. Dhruv Kapoor and Diesel are also scheduled to present on the first day.

The Prada move gives Milan an immediate headline moment and places one of the city’s most influential houses at the front of the week. It also creates a clear lead-in to Vogue World: Milano, which will take place later that day at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Vogue World’s fifth edition will celebrate Italian craftsmanship and the relationship between human skill and technology. Organizers have selected the historic glass-roofed arcade between La Scala and the Duomo for an event structured around fashion’s ability to preserve heritage while supporting innovation. The event is also connected to a commitment of at least €2 million toward transforming the Quarto Oggiaro Library into a community-focused center for fashion, music and the arts.

Moschino prepares the schedule’s creative-director debut

The week’s primary design debut will come from Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo, the founders of Sunnei, who are scheduled to present their first collection as Moschino’s co-creative directors on Friday, September 25.

The appointment gives the season a genuine element of surprise. Messina and Rizzo built Sunnei through experimental presentations, community-led branding and a willingness to question conventional runway formats. How that approach translates to Moschino’s established language of humor, spectacle and pop-cultural commentary will make the show one of Milan’s most closely monitored appointments.

The schedule is otherwise less dominated by first outings than recent fashion seasons. Instead, attention will turn toward designers building on newly established directions at several of Italy’s largest houses.

Gucci, Fendi and Marni enter their second chapters

Maria Grazia Chiuri’s second Fendi collection is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23. Meryll Rogge will follow with her second runway season at Marni on Thursday, September 24, while Demna’s second ready-to-wear presentation for Gucci will take place on Friday, September 25.

These sophomore collections can be just as revealing as debuts. A first show often introduces a broad visual statement; the follow-up demonstrates which ideas are intended to become lasting house codes. For Fendi, Marni and Gucci, September will offer a clearer indication of how each designer plans to balance recognizable brand identity with a personal creative language.

Simone Bellotti is also scheduled to continue his work at Jil Sander on September 23. On Saturday, September 26, Louise Trotter will present her latest Bottega Veneta collection as the house’s direction continues to evolve under her leadership.

The established Milan names returning for Spring/Summer 2027

Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo and Bottega Veneta are among the major houses occupying Saturday’s calendar. Giorgio Armani will return on Sunday under the creative direction of Silvana Armani.

Other confirmed names across the week include Max Mara, Jil Sander, Missoni, Etro, Alberta Ferretti, Blumarine, The Attico and Act No.1. Portuguese-founded labels Marques’Almeida and Miguel Vieira will make their first Milan Fashion Week appearances, with Miguel Vieira scheduled to close the week.

Versace will remain absent as the industry waits for Pieter Mulier’s debut, currently expected in February 2027. Boss is also not listed on the Spring/Summer 2027 schedule.

What the Milan schedule signals for fashion month

Milan’s calendar reflects a season of consolidation rather than wholesale reinvention. The key story is not simply who is new, but how major houses are moving from introductory statements into sustained creative strategies. Prada’s opening-day switch gives the week a sharper start, Moschino provides the principal debut and Vogue World expands the first day beyond the traditional runway circuit.

For press planning, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana has opened professional accreditation for the September 22–28 edition. Applicants are asked to provide documentation verifying their press credentials or media affiliation. Individual show access remains invitation-based, and CNMI advises the public to be cautious about third-party advertisements claiming to sell access to official Milano Fashion Week events.

The schedule should still be treated as subject to change. Editors, buyers and attendees should consult the official Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana website for updated show information and the official press-accreditation requirements.

Milan follows London Fashion Week’s September 17–21 edition. The final day overlaps with the beginning of Paris Fashion Week; readers can continue planning with the store’s Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 schedule report.

Calendar details were verified on July 29, 2026. Because fashion-week schedules remain provisional until closer to the event, specific times and participating brands may be updated.
