London Fashion Week September 2026: McQueen and Mulberry Lead a Season of Major Returns

London Fashion Week is preparing for a closely watched September edition, with major British houses returning to the official schedule alongside a new wave of emerging designers. The British Fashion Council has released the provisional Spring/Summer 2027 lineup, confirming that the event will run from Thursday, September 17, through Monday, September 21, 2026.

The five-day program arrives at a moment when London is leaning into the qualities that have long distinguished it within the Big Four: creative experimentation, cultural crossover and a talent pipeline capable of moving designers from graduate collections to the global stage. This season, however, the schedule also carries the weight of two significant homecomings.

McQueen and Mulberry return to the London schedule

McQueen will return to the official London Fashion Week calendar with Seán McGirr presenting his London debut for the house. The presentation will include both menswear and womenswear for Spring/Summer 2027, making it one of the season’s clearest headline moments.

Mulberry is also returning, with Christopher Kane set to unveil his debut collection as the house’s creative director. For London, the pairing of McQueen and Mulberry brings renewed focus to two British names with distinct identities: one rooted in theatrical runway storytelling and the other closely associated with British leather goods and modern lifestyle dressing.

The provisional schedule also includes established London anchors such as Burberry, Emilia Wickstead, Erdem, Harris Reed, Richard Quinn, Roksanda and Simone Rocha, as well as Barbour. Together, these labels give the week a strong heritage presence while leaving room for the more experimental voices that continue to define the city’s fashion reputation.

A new generation enters the official calendar

London’s emerging-designer infrastructure remains central to the September program. Francesca Lake, Gui Rosa and Petra Fagerström are scheduled to make their London Fashion Week debuts as recipients of BFC NEWGEN in partnership with Pull&Bear. Returning NEWGEN recipients include Charlie Constantinou, E.W.usie, Liza Keane, Octi, Oscar Ouyang, Pauline Dujancourt, The Ouze and Yaku.

Fashion East will also return following additional British Fashion Council investment in the talent-support platform. A showcase from Birmingham City University will extend the schedule’s reach beyond the capital and support the BFC’s stated goal of spotlighting creative talent from across the United Kingdom.

Several labels are joining the official schedule for the first time. British menswear name Geordie Campbell, Joyce Bao, Indian label Lovebirds and demi-couture brand Onalaja are all listed as newcomers. They join vanguard designers including Aaron Esh, Ashley Williams, Chopova Lowena, KNWLS and Paolo Carzana.

Retail and live experience move closer to the runway

The September edition is not limited to traditional runway shows. The BFC is placing increased emphasis on physical experiences, installations and projects that connect fashion with music, photography, art and commerce.

Marks & Spencer will make its London Fashion Week debut with its first exclusive runway collection. The womenswear and menswear presentation will use a “see now, buy now” format and mark the retailer’s centenary year in fashion. H&M is collaborating with photographer Nick Knight and SHOWstudio on a reimagined fashion-show experience, while Dover Street Market will host an in-store jewelry showcase.

eBay is set to return with Endless Runway, a pre-owned fashion presentation that will be shoppable through eBay Live. Selfridges will support the week through in-store highlights and a curated edit of participating British designers. J.L-A.L is planning an immersive Spring/Summer 2027 presentation followed by an afterparty connected to its Puma collaboration, while Paul Smith Foundation designer-in-residence 5000 is expected to unveil a collection through a sound-bath experience.

These projects point to a broader shift in the fashion-week model. Runway visibility remains important, but brands and organizers are increasingly building formats that allow audiences to watch, shop or participate in real time. London’s latest schedule treats retail partners and cultural programming as part of the week’s editorial story rather than as peripheral activations.

What the provisional schedule means for September

The confirmed lineup suggests that London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 will balance three priorities: the return of recognizable British houses, continued investment in emerging designers and more direct consumer engagement. McQueen and Mulberry will likely command international attention, but the depth of the schedule will depend equally on how successfully London turns discovery into long-term opportunity for its newest participants.

The September 2026 calendar is still provisional, so individual show times and formats may change before the event begins. Buyers, press and industry professionals should use the official London Fashion Week schedule for the latest updates and accreditation information.

London follows New York Fashion Week, scheduled for September 10–15, and precedes the later stages of the European fashion-month circuit. Paris will run from September 28 through October 6; readers can also explore the store’s preliminary Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 schedule report.

Schedule information was verified against the British Fashion Council announcement and official London Fashion Week calendar on July 28, 2026.
