Yasmin: Breaking Barriers and Finding Purpose on the Runway

Yasmin: Breaking Barriers and Finding Purpose on the Runway

For Yasmin, modeling has never been defined by a single runway, city, or moment. From her earliest fashion shows in Wales to walking during London Fashion Week and taking the runway in Milan, her journey is a reminder that a passion for fashion can continue evolving through every chapter of life.

Born in Swansea, Wales, and now based in Bedford near London, Yasmin first discovered modeling through a charity fashion show at school. What began as an opportunity to model clothing from a local boutique quickly grew into something more. She began attending castings and walking in fashion productions across Wales, eventually working alongside names including Britain's Next Top Model winner Jade Thompson and finalist Jade McSorley.

Her early career also introduced her to Welsh designer Helen Rhiannon Gill and fashion stylist Huw Rees, while giving Yasmin experience both on the runway and modeling fashion on television.

In 2012, she turned her experience into something deeply personal, producing her own Unique Fashion Show to raise money for Cancer Research following the loss of her uncle. The event brought together local designers, retailers, photographers and models for a cause close to her heart.

More recently, Yasmin's career has taken her onto increasingly international stages. She has walked during London Fashion Week, including appearances with Vivz World Fashion Week and Vanity Hub Africa, as well as the Global Fashion Incubator x Hamstech show. In 2026, she also traveled to Italy to walk in the Rockstar Fashion Show in Milan.

Her work has appeared in publications including Swansea Life Magazine, FABUK Magazine, Fashion Week Online, VIGOUR Magazine, Beautica Magazine, and BellaNaija Style. Along the way, she has also earned recognition through competitions including Top Model UK, where she received the Most Photogenic award.

But Yasmin's next chapter carries a message beyond the clothes.

As a mother and a model of mixed Black Caribbean and white heritage, she hopes to challenge traditional ideas surrounding age and beauty while encouraging her daughter and other women to embrace their natural features and continue pursuing what makes them feel alive.

"I believe our greatest beauty comes from within," Yasmin says. "When you have a beautiful heart and soul, that will shine through in anything you create."

Her philosophy is equally simple: progress over perfection.

For Yasmin, fashion is ultimately about embracing opportunities, creating memories and refusing to believe that ambition has an expiration date. With London and Milan already part of her story, she is ready to see where the runway takes her next.
