Spring 2026 Is Coming to NYFW September 11-16: New York Fashion Week Prepares for a Season of Reboots, Debuts, and Disruption

Though we’re still basking in the glow of summer, the fashion world is already abuzz with what’s ahead: Spring/Summer 2026, the season that promises reinvention, revival, and runway risk-taking.

September is shaping up to be fashion’s season of the reboot and while many eyes are turned toward Europe for high-profile designer debuts, New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is staking its claim with a calendar full of heavy hitters, daring newcomers, and international crossovers.

On Thursday, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) released the official preliminary schedule for NYFW Spring/Summer 2026, and the lineup is already making headlines. Set to take place September 11–16, 2025, the week will kick off with Michael Kors, launching the American Collections with his signature blend of uptown polish and global reach.

The Big Headlines

Among the most talked-about moments this season:

  • Brandon Maxwell celebrates his 10-year anniversary with an off-schedule show expected to be both intimate and extravagant.

  • Nicholas Aburn makes his anticipated runway debut at AREA, signaling a new direction for the label.

  • International forces like Off-White, KidSuper, Toteme, and COS will show in New York—an ongoing shift that reflects the city’s rising appeal on the global stage.

  • Alexander Wang makes a headline-worthy return to NYFW, after seasons of absence and transformation.

A Tapestry of Talent

The Spring 2026 schedule will feature over 60 runway shows and presentations, with additional collections shown digitally or by appointment. From established American icons to bold emerging names, the roster is a testament to New York’s range and rhythm.

Returning names include:
Altuzarra, Area, Bevza, Calvin Klein Collection, Campillo, Christian Siriano, Collina Strada, Cynthia Rowley, Diotima, Eckhaus Latta, Elena Velez, Fforme, Jason Wu, Kallmeyer, Lafayette 148, LaQuan Smith, Luar, Norma Kamali, Prabal Gurung, Sandy Liang, Sergio Hudson, Simkhai, Tibi, Todd Snyder, Tory Burch, TWP, Ulla Johnson, Who Decides War, and Zankov.

First-time additions bring fresh energy to the week, including:
6397, Amir Taghi, Dwarmis, Lii, Maria McManus, Nardos, Raúl Peñaranda, Rùadh, and SC103

Also integrated into the week’s programming are the 2025 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists, including Ashlyn, Bach Mai, Bernard James, Don’t Let Disco, Gabe Gordon, Heirlome, Jamie Okuma, and Meruert Tolegen, each hosting activations and brand experiences that push fashion into new dimensions of engagement.

The Power Behind the Platform

Since its acquisition of the Fashion Calendar in 2014, the CFDA has been the official organizer of the NYFW schedule. Originally founded by Ruth Finley in 1945, the calendar has evolved from printed booklet to digital compass guiding the industry through the year’s most pivotal fashion moments.

And more than just a calendar, NYFW continues to prove its cultural, economic, and creative relevance. In its seventh season, the CFDA NYFW Fund which launched in 2022 to support international press and deepen global relationships has sponsored nearly 50 editors to attend NYFW through brand-backed initiatives.

“The collections this September represent the resilience and dynamism of the city through a global lens,”
— Joseph Maglieri, Director of Fashion Week Initiatives at CFDA

The Pulse of the City

With its mix of familiar names, brand comebacks, international debuts, and next-gen designers, the Spring 2026 season underscores what makes New York Fashion Week essential: its power to reflect the spirit of the times while shaping what’s next.

If Spring 2026 is the season of the reboot, New York is where the story begins.

We have witnessed shows like London pushing for more press and media with an investment going into its reboot, Paris showcasing over 100 designers each and every Fashion Week now as well as smaller shows getting restarted such as Hartford, Manchester and more.

2026 is the year of the reboot.
