Shuting Qiu SS26: “Tender Rebellion” at Paris Fashion Week

By Paris Runway Official

At the Théâtre de l’Odéon in Paris, Shuting Qiu unveiled her Spring/Summer 2026 collection. The collection which was titled “Tender Rebellion” was a poetic exploration of strength through softness. As their Instagram notes... DARING YET SOFT, POWERFUL YET ROMANTIC, STRONG YET CHEERFUL.

The choice of the Théâtre de l’Odéon as venue brought poetic resonance. Bathed in soft, natural light and framed by the ambience of gardens and an adjacent park, the space echoed the themes of memory, daydream, and introspection. Instead of something theatrical the space felt very intimate. It allowed guests to see each of the details that were found on the collection.

The show opened with ethereal silhouettes in wisteria, ivory, and crimson, blending structured tailoring with fluid draping. Qiu’s signature embroidery and lacework returned with a refined restraint, echoing a matured elegance.

The collection celebrated contrast and balance along with transparency against structure, delicacy against defiance. Crochet handbags made from surplus yarn and beaded footwear underscored her commitment to sustainability and craft.

Qiu continues to position her work at the nexus of craft, culture, and modern identity. She integrates Chinese embroidery traditions and sustainable practices (surplus silk, leftover yarn) into her creative process.

Her message is one of balance: that in vulnerability lies strength; in softness, courage; in memory, forward motion. It was a tender rebellion where both sides of an emotion are needed. Strength and joy. Daring, yet soft.
