Richard Quinn creates a winter wonderland at London Fashion Week

Dear reader,

Richard Quinn, the renowned British designer, transported his audience to a winter wonderland at London Fashion Week's Autumn/Winter 2025 showcase. His collection reimagined Dior's iconic "New Look" silhouette, nearly 80 years after its debut.

The 35-year-old designer is celebrated for his classic, retro aesthetic, often embracing understated elegance, and this show was no exception. Quinn's designs paid homage to fashion legends, as did his choice of models. Notably, 75-year-old Penelope Tree, an icon of London's Swinging Sixties, graced the runway.

As snow fell from the ceiling, classical strings began to play, and sumptuous silks, poufs and ruffles began to spill out onto the runway. It reminded us of London, yes, but more importantly of a time in Europe and the UK when all felt right.... even in the winter storms. He somehow turned the dreary winters of the London streets into something so magical and beautiful that you felt as if Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Monroe could have been there.

A snow-covered London street served as the catwalk, complete with dimmed street lamps, and falling snow. Models emerged from the front door of a Georgian townhouse to the tune of classical music, a go-to for Quinn.

It was a sensory show - not one to just look at. But one to feel and give you goosebumps as you watched each design coming down the snowy streets.

Despite being famous for its use of florals and ruffles; this collection took a more refined approach – showcasing monotoned silks, pitch dark velvets and elegant embellished gowns. It really reminded us of a photo of the days of Dior when everything was handmade, in just one boutique, in the streets of Paris. And each and every gown was made for just one specific person. A time we all want to go back too.
