Original conceptual rooftop scene with two flows of people crossing; not a photograph of the Moschino show

Moschino’s New Creative Duo Turns a Milan Parking Deck Into a Runway

September 26, 2026. Moschino’s new creative directors, Loris Messina and Simone Rizzo, used their first Milan runway show to make an argument about who fashion is for. On September 25, models crossed a rooftop parking deck against a stream of everyday-looking participants moving the other way. The scene brought a city street into the show format and gave the clothes an immediate human context.

A debut confirmed on the calendar

Moschino’s parent company Aeffe announced the pair’s appointment on June 21, identifying them as the founders and former creative directors of Sunnei and saying their house debut would come during September’s Milan Fashion Week. The CNMI calendar updated September 24 placed Moschino’s women’s and men’s show at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 25.

Vogue Runway’s show report describes the parking-deck setting and the counterflow of participants and models. Vogue’s on-site reaction piece identifies the rooftop as the Unipol Dome and reports vivid color, exaggerated proportions and trompe l’oeil effects. These are reported observations of the actual show; the image accompanying this article is an original conceptual interpretation, not event photography.

Why the format was the story

The show placed people dressed for ordinary routines beside the collection. Vogue reported that the participants appeared to be going to work, school or social plans while the models moved against them. The approach let viewers compare a deliberately styled runway look with the movement of everyday dress in the same frame.

That staging also made the creative handover legible without simply replaying an archive. Aeffe’s June statement described the appointment as an effort to balance Moschino’s identity with a new creative language. The pair’s first collection used humor and scale, but its presentation provided the clearest first signal: the house’s next chapter will be discussed through people and public life as well as through garments.

Paris Runway Official’s analysis

Editorial assessment: For PR teams, Moschino’s debut is a case study in how a show concept can create a memorable editorial angle before a single look is isolated. The crossing flows supplied a visual thesis that could be understood in a photograph, a short video or a written recap. That does not establish how the clothes will sell, nor does it prove that every viewer read the message in the same way. It explains why the event drew attention as a production decision.

The next test is whether product imagery and retail presentation can preserve the energy of the runway when the crowd and setting are gone. Editors should follow the official collection imagery and subsequent releases before declaring a lasting change in Moschino’s commercial direction. For the moment, the confirmed news is the creative team’s first show and the unusual way it was staged.
