Harriotte Lane and her Pageant Success:
Harriotte Lane, a Pageant Queen, philanthropist and entrepreneur based in Newcastle, U.K., has recently collaborated with Aventura Swimwear. Harriotte is the current Queen of Miss Grand International United Kingdom, an organisation which champions cultural diversity and represents confident women who proudly stand for meaningful causes. Miss Grand looks for Women with ambition who represent their country with intellect and conviction. As the CEO of a successful pageantry coaching business and a philanthropist who supports causes for women and animal welfare, Harriotte is an asset to the Miss Grand organisation and an example of what determination and inner strength can lead to. Miss Grand is a prestigious and highly competitive system, broadcast and admired worldwide. For the Pageant Queens who enter, it is an opportunity not only for international exposure but also for personal growth. It requires intensive labour and a positive mindset to succeed.
“Miss Grand International has always been a dream of mine. For over a decade, my mum and I would watch it together, inspired by the strength and presence of the women on that stage. The competition itself is an intense and immersive experience, spanning over four weeks. It requires stamina, discipline, and the ability to remain consistently “on,” as every moment has the potential to be seen. Placing in the Top 20 was an incredibly proud moment and reinforced that I belong at that level”.
At just 24, she has achieved multiple successes in her pageant career, winning the title of Miss International United Kingdom in 2019 and Miss Grand International United Kingdom in 2025. These prestigious titles have given her the opportunity to compete globally alongside like-minded women in Japan and Thailand. These opportunities have allowed Harriotte to travel the world, experience new cultures and elevate her platform. Her Miss International win was a pivotal moment, propelling her journey in the pageant industry, which later led to her successful career, strong pageant community and to her Miss Grand crowning.

Winning Miss International in 2019 was a major milestone. How did that victory impact your personal growth?
“Winning at 18, after only six weeks of preparation, was completely unexpected. I entered with the intention of learning and enjoying the experience, but it became a defining moment in my life. Representing my country in Japan and standing alongside women from over 80 nations was both inspiring and overwhelming. I made a conscious decision to embrace every moment, and that mindset ultimately led to a Top 5 placement and an experience that shaped my confidence and perspective”.
Harriotte supports charitable organisations such as A-Sisterhood, a UK-based organisation that works with countless charities, such as “Stop Acid Attacks”, which supports survivors in India and “Smalls for All”, a Scottish charity that donates bras to women in Scotland and Africa. They seek to empower, support and protect women worldwide. Harriotte regularly supports the A-Sisterhood organisation, collecting bras for “smalls for all”, and has attended many humanitarian trips to India alongside her Miss International sister queens since her crowning in 2019.
“The Sheroes are among the most inspiring women I have ever met. Their strength goes far beyond their physical scars; they have overcome unimaginable challenges, including loss of family, security, and independence. Organisations like Stop Acid Attacks provide not only medical care but also tools to rebuild lives. Supporting this work is something I feel strongly committed to”.
Harriotte's strong humanitarian values and empathy are qualities that the pageant world champion. Women like Harriotte demonstrate to outsiders who have not researched modern-day pageantry how imperative the work pageant girls do is in today's society. Pageantry is multifaceted. It is no longer about a “pretty face”; it judges women on talent, fashion choices, credibility, personal growth, their confidence and presence on stage, their charitable causes and platforms and their long-term plan for after the title. Pageantry is at the heart of female empowerment, not degradation. It aims to be inclusive and empowering, a community where women can support each other's causes and personal wins. With multiple pageant systems at different levels, the community in the U.K. alone is immense and supportive.

On the back of her growth in the Pageant world as a title holder of Teen and Miss crowns, Harriotte has created a successful pageant coaching company, “the Crown Coach,” in which she has built a network for female empowerment and pageantry growth for over 200 clients. “Crown Coach isn’t just about winning titles. It’s about building women who command rooms before they even speak,” she helps women develop their personal style and platforms, prepare them for interviews and the stage and build their confidence.
As the founder of “The Crown Coach”, what advice would you offer to someone completely new to the world of pageantry?
“Invest in coaching. It’s one of the most valuable decisions you can make. Before discovering coaching, we experienced missed opportunities and unnecessary costs. Learning from industry leaders, including former Miss Universe winners, has shaped my journey. Even now, as a coach myself, I continue to invest in my own growth. Success requires accountability and a commitment to constant development”.
Harriotte is currently preparing for a new title. Miss Grand International All Stars. A first-of-its-kind and exclusive event; that invites previous international winners to compete and is open to all women and transgender women aged 20-40. Harriotte is strategic in her pageant preparations; she is currently securing sponsors and partnerships to meet the financial demands of an international competition. Pageantry is a highly lucrative sport, one that women must fundraise and secure sponsorships for to compete. Despite this, Harriotte is determined to elevate into the best version of herself.
“I’m working on my wardrobe, maintaining a disciplined fitness routine, focusing on nutrition, and refining choreography ahead of returning to Thailand. Every element is approached with intention”

Harriotte's Evening Wear on stage at Miss Grand International 2025 finals.
Harriotte is known in the pageant industry and on her socials for her unique sense of style and flair for fashion. Her Instagram features a mix of different styles, all in bold, daring variations. She incorporates avant-garde accessories into all of her outfits and is not afraid of bold colours and contemporary pieces. Her outfits and gowns during the Miss Grand International final were highly anticipated. Her evening gown was enchanting, featuring sharp cutouts, heavy silver embellishments, an elegant high-neck cape, and strategically placed roses. The gown was designed by her Mother and inspired by her late grandfather’s love for flowers – showing how fashion and art are multi-generational and emotive. Her national costume, however, was in stark contrast to her ethereal evening wear. Inspired by Fish and Chips and complete with a swarm of seagulls, Harriotte entered the stage eating genuine chips out of her costume whilst wearing a massive newspaper about herself, wrapped around a portion of Cod and Chips, showcasing her sense of humour and unique style. This costume went viral on social media, with many commending her creativity and hilarity.
What inspired you and your team to create such an unusual but iconic national dress?
“The idea for my national costume began as a light-hearted conversation about iconic British culture. “Fish and chips” was initially a joke, but we quickly realised it had potential. I’m known for embracing personality and not taking myself too seriously, and this concept allowed me to showcase that in a bold and memorable way”.
Harriotte uses fashion as a form of self-expression. At 6ft tall, she has always felt she stands out and felt she needed to express her individualism through her outfits. “I’ve always embraced the opportunity to give people something to focus on beyond my height”. She focuses on making her dress sense memorable, exuding confidence and evolving her style based on the mood or occasion. “When I last competed, I became known for my unpredictability. There was no set theme, just the excitement of revealing something new each day”.

Confidence is key to her outfits. However, this was not always the case. Harriotte experienced burns as a child and initially competed in pageants to build her confidence. For Harriotte, the Swimwear round in particular has been life-altering. “For me, the swimwear round represents confidence and self-acceptance. I entered pageantry after losing my confidence following a burn injury that required skin grafts. Stepping onto the stage, embracing my scars, and still feeling beautiful was a defining moment. It reshaped how I see myself and continues to remind me of my strength”.
Given this journey of self-acceptance, Harriotte’s partnership with Aventura Swimwear, a luxury swimwear brand that champions female confidence, seems like a natural fit. She shared, “ Aventura Swimwear is“a brand that understands how to enhance the female form with intention, creating swimwear that empowers the wearer to feel both confident and elevated”.

You recently partnered with Aventura Swimwear, a Croatian luxury swimwear brand. What do you love about Aventura designs?
“What I love most about Aventura is the combination of design and quality. The fabrics are exceptional; they provide support, enhance shape, and maintain their structure, which is essential in high-performance swimwear”.
Harriotte recently packed Aventura Swimwear for her trip to Miami, where she enjoyed time in the pageant community and lounging at luxury resorts and spas. Her favourite piece is the Selene Swimsuit in Venus Red. The swimsuit is versatile and adaptable, offering two distinct looks: a bold crossover halter or a traditional halter style, allowing the wearer to change based on their personality.
“Aventura aligns perfectly with my personal style. I’m drawn to strong, structured designs, particularly cut-out one-pieces, and the brand executes this exceptionally well. The Petra design is a perfect example; it enhances shape and elongates the body, making it both flattering and fashion-forward”.

What do you think sets Aventura Swimwear apart from other luxury swimwear brands?
“What sets Aventura Swimwear apart is its ability to combine high-fashion aesthetics with true functionality. While many luxury brands prioritise design alone, Aventura delivers pieces that are not only visually striking but also supportive, durable, and thoughtfully constructed. It’s a brand that understands how to enhance the female form with intention, creating swimwear that empowers the wearer to feel both confident and elevated”.
