Mary Jennings Honored at Miss England Semi-Finalist Sashing and BOPA Peace Festival in Coventry

MODEL SPOTLIGHT:

Coventry, UK – June 21–22, 2025 — Over the weekend, Mary Jennings, the reigning Miss Lincolnshire and WeDoEthical Queen, was officially sashed as a semi-finalist in the Miss England 2025 competition during a two-day event held in Coventry. The celebration marked a significant chapter in her pageant journey, as she continues to champion her long-standing mission of “beauty with a purpose.”

Held at Players Venue in central Coventry on Saturday, the official sashing ceremony brought together all qualified semi-finalists for Miss England 2025. The following day, Mary took the stage at the Coventry Canal Basin for the British Organisation of People of Asian Origin (BOPA) Annual Peace Festival, where she delivered a powerful speech on peace, hope, and the importance of inclusive opportunity. She was the only Miss England candidate invited to speak... a testament to her leadership and impact.

“It was a huge honour to be invited to speak on behalf of Miss England at the Peace Festival,” Mary said. “To stand in front of so many communities and share a message rooted in unity, education, and empowerment was incredibly meaningful.”

A Voice for Change: From SWIFS to Empowerment Education

Beyond pageantry, Mary Jennings is known for her work as a passionate advocate for social equity through two initiatives she founded: SWIFS (Supporting Women Into the Fire Service) and Empowerment Education.

Launched two years ago, SWIFS addresses gender disparities in fire service recruitment and offers mentorship, educational resources, and diversity training to both new candidates and current professionals. Its mission: to break down barriers for women and minority groups within the fire sector.

Empowerment Education, inspired by Mary’s personal journey as an undiagnosed neurodiverse student, works to bridge systemic gaps in the educational system. Having once been denied adequate support during her GCSEs, Mary now tours schools, youth clubs, and community hubs to ensure all young people... regardless of background receive access to quality education and resources.

“I believe education and opportunity should never be limited by labels or circumstance,” Mary explains. “Through my projects, I advocate for those who have been silenced or overlooked.”

What’s Next: The Road to Miss England — and Beyond

Mary’s next milestone is the Miss England Semi-Final, scheduled for October 3rd at The Grand Station in Wolverhampton. If successful, she could retain her Miss Lincolnshire title or be awarded a new regional or specialist title, all leading up to the prestigious Miss England Grand Final. Ultimately, this could place her in contention for Miss World England—a title that would elevate her advocacy work to an international platform.

“To carry the Miss Lincolnshire title again or even step onto the world stage would be monumental, not just for me, but for every voice my projects aim to uplift,” Mary says.
