Mariafernanda Toral: The Texas Entrepreneur Using Fashion to Empower the Next Generation
By Paris Runway Official Editorial Team
For Mariafernanda Toral, fashion has never been about simply wearing beautiful clothes—it has always been about creating confidence, telling stories, and inspiring transformation.
At just 21 years old, the Texas-based model and entrepreneur is building a career that extends well beyond the runway. While continuing to establish herself in the fashion industry, Toral has also become the founder of LAROT Model Workshop, an academy dedicated to helping aspiring models develop confidence, professionalism, and self-belief through fashion.
It is a mission rooted in her own journey.

Growing up in South Texas, Toral was drawn to fashion from an early age. Rather than viewing clothing as a trend, she saw it as an artistic language—a way for people to communicate identity, creativity, and emotion without saying a word.
"I've always seen fashion as a form of art and self-expression," she says. "It allows people to become the version of themselves they've always imagined."
She began modeling as a teenager, gradually building experience through photoshoots, local productions, and runway presentations. With every opportunity, she discovered that modeling was about far more than posing for a camera. It became an exercise in confidence, discipline, and personal growth.
That passion has since taken her to runways across Texas and beyond, including South Texas Fashion Week, Texas Fashion Week, and New York Fashion Week. She has also earned editorial features in Seline Magazine, adding to a growing portfolio that reflects both her versatility and determination.

Yet perhaps her proudest achievement is one that takes place away from the spotlight.
Recognizing the impact modeling had on her own confidence, Toral founded LAROT Model Workshop, where she teaches aspiring models runway techniques, posing, movement, professional etiquette, and personal development.
Her goal is simple but meaningful: to create opportunities she wishes had existed when she first entered the industry.
"I don't just want to succeed myself," she explains. "I want to help create opportunities for the next generation."
The workshop reflects a broader philosophy that has become central to her career. Fashion, she believes, is not about appearance alone. It is about storytelling, discipline, creativity, and discovering the confidence to embrace who you truly are.
Outside of modeling, Toral balances multiple careers. She works in marketing and social media while continuing to grow her business, a journey that began with far more humble beginnings.
"Not long ago, I was working as a barista at Starbucks," she says with a smile.
That experience remains a reminder that every career begins somewhere, and that persistence often matters more than circumstance.
Her creative interests extend well beyond fashion. Dance, music, acting, and performance all play important roles in her life, reinforcing her belief that creativity exists in countless forms. Whether walking a runway or mentoring a young model, she approaches each opportunity with the same enthusiasm and curiosity.
When asked what the word create means to her, the answer comes naturally.
"To create is bringing an idea to life," she says. "Whether it's music, dance, writing, acting, or fashion—creation is turning imagination into reality."
Her outlook is equally reflected in a favorite Spanish saying she lives by:
"La única manera de hacer un gran trabajo es amar lo que haces."
Translated, it means, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do."
That philosophy continues to guide every aspect of her career.
Professionally, Toral hopes to establish herself as an internationally recognized high-fashion model while expanding LAROT Model Workshop into a respected modeling academy that empowers aspiring talent around the world.

Personally, her dreams are even more meaningful.
She hopes to one day relocate to New York, continue growing emotionally, strengthen family relationships, and ultimately provide a home for those who have supported her throughout her journey.
"My purpose is to inspire confidence, create opportunities for others, and leave a positive impact through fashion and education," she says.
It is a vision that reflects a new generation of fashion leaders—one that measures success not only by campaigns or runway appearances, but by the lives they influence along the way.
As Mariafernanda Toral continues to build her career, she is proving that fashion can be far more than an industry. It can be a classroom. A community. A platform for possibility.
And for the young models stepping through the doors of LAROT Model Workshop, it is becoming exactly that.
