Restitched Reverie: Lauren Elizabeth’s Vintage Dreamworld Debuts at Austin Fashion Week
By Paris Runway Official | Spotlight Feature
On Saturday, May 10th at precisely 1:00 PM, the Domain in Austin pulsed with anticipation. The Sustain show at Austin Fashion Week wasn’t just a showcase—it was a revelation. Designer Lauren Elizabeth, founder of Sustainably Styled, unveiled her one-of-a-kind collection, Restitched Reverie, turning thrifted dreams into runway magic. The show, which partnered with Good-will, brought sustainability to the forefront of a fashion show that featured over 100 designers and attendees from all over the world.

But her runway journey didn’t begin in a traditional atelier. “I actually applied to be a stylist,” Lauren shares. “I had this whole closet full of secondhand pieces I loved working with.” But a fateful visit to the South Austin Goodwill bins set her imagination ablaze. “I found so many beautiful things, I knew I didn’t just want to style—I wanted to create.”
Lauren ensures her designs go to customers who have an eye and love for sustainability through her Poshmark account, where she sells them at under the account @sustnblystyld.
And create she did. Restitched Reverie is a love letter to forgotten fabrics, reborn. A vintage floral comforter becomes a series of sculpted belts. A delicate eyelet ruffle on an old pillowcase inspires soft, feminine silhouettes that feel playful and powerful all at once. “It reminded me of childhood,” Lauren reflects. “That fun, girlie energy—I wanted to rework it into something adult women could wear with pride.”

Every piece in the collection is sourced from reclaimed materials, handcrafted with intentionality and care. “This is slow fashion, one piece at a time,” Lauren explains. “I approach each garment with curiosity. Why was this donated? What story can it still tell?” The result? A runway line that’s soulful, inventive, and full of heart.
Beyond the fabric and thread, the Austin designer draws strength from her roots. “My mom made our Halloween costumes. My grandma was a professional quilter. I grew up surrounded by women who told stories with textiles.” Her community in Austin, from local creatives at That’s Sew Austin to her own two young sons, remain her greatest source of inspiration. “They think I should wear sequins every day,” she laughs. “And honestly, they might be onto something.”

What’s next? A continued commitment to sustainability and personal connection. “Each piece is one-of-a-kind. If someone falls in love with a look, I’ll find a way to recreate it in their size.” For those drawn to her ethos, her curated thrift finds are also available on Poshmark (@sustnblystyld), and she offers personal styling sessions with a sustainable twist.
But Lauren’s dreams extend beyond the runway. “I want to change the perception of sustainable fashion,” she says. “This isn’t a compromise. It’s stylish, exciting, and full of potential.” Her long-term goal? To create scalable systems that keep clothes out of landfills—and help people fall in love with fashion that lasts.
In an era of mass production, Lauren Elizabeth’s Restitched Reverie reminds us of the beauty in renewal. Her designs don’t just walk—they whisper stories, spark nostalgia, and boldly redefine what fashion can be.
