This Saturday, May 10 at 1:00 PM, Austin Fashion Week welcomes a highly anticipated showcase from Lauren Elizabeth, founder of Sustainably Styled, who will unveil her latest runway collection titled “Restitched Reverie” at the SUSTAIN show at The Domain. Austin Fashion Week takes place May 8-10th with a Runway Show designated to sustainability in the fashion industry on Saturday, May 10th.
Rooted in sustainable fashion and the power of creative reinvention, Restitched Reverie is a collection that transforms forgotten fabrics into powerful, feminine statements. Each piece is stitched with a story, beginning with one unexpected source: a vintage blue floral comforter discovered at the South Austin Goodwill Outlet.
“I knew immediately it was too special to leave behind,” says Lauren. “That one piece inspired everything else—you’ll see parts of it in every look, especially the belts.” From that comforter came an entire collection that is both whimsical and intentional, embodying what Lauren calls a “celebration of reinvention.”
The collection is rich with delicate details—a nod to childhood nostalgia and found beauty. “I was inspired by the eyelet ruffle on a vintage bedspread and pillowcase,” she explains. “So delicate and girly, it reminded me of childhood. I wanted to take that playful, fun ‘girlie’ energy and rework it into something adult women could wear and feel powerful in—without losing the charm.”
As the founder of Sustainably Styled, Lauren has made it her mission to challenge traditional fashion norms by championing upcycling and thoughtful design.
