Katie Deegan: The Irish Model Proving Women Can Build a Career and Chase the Runway

For Katie Deegan, ambition has never belonged to just one world.

Born in Dublin and now based in Chelmsford, Essex, the Irish model and beauty queen balances a demanding career as an Emergency Medical Technician with a growing presence in fashion, commercial modeling, and pageantry. Her journey reflects a belief she carries into every opportunity: women should never feel they must choose between professional achievement and personal dreams.

They can pursue both.

Fashion first became a space where Katie could express herself creatively and build confidence. What began as a passion gradually became an international modeling journey, giving her the opportunity to collaborate with photographers, brands, publications, and creative teams from around the world.

“Modeling gave me the confidence to express myself,” she says. “Sharing my work online has allowed me to connect with others, inspire confidence, and continue growing within the fashion industry.”

Today, Katie has built a strong editorial portfolio, appearing in more than 20 international magazines. Her work has included cover features for iMirage Magazine and Maxi Boudoir, alongside appearances in Mex Magazine, Maxi Magazine, PhotoModel Magazine, Factory Fantasy Magazine, Showcase International Magazine, Miss Europe Continental Magazine, Swing Magazine, FWM Magazine, and Stylette Magazine.

Her career has also extended into promotional and commercial work. Katie has represented brands including Tan in the City and Prozis, participated in openings for Energy Fitness Tallaght, worked with sponsors such as Burbayne and AGIIINCY, and appeared as a ring girl for Extreme Boxing Promotions.

While those accomplishments have helped establish her place within the industry, pageantry has given Katie another platform to represent confidence, ambition, and modern Irish womanhood.

She is currently preparing to represent Ireland at Miss Europe Continental 2026/2027, following a pageant journey that has already included a Top 15 placement at Miss Bikini Ireland 2025 and selection as a Dublin Rose candidate in 2026.

For Katie, these experiences are not simply about titles. They are opportunities to show women that identity does not need to fit into one category.

By day, she works in emergency medical care, supporting people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Outside of work, she steps in front of the camera, develops her runway presence, and pursues international fashion opportunities.

That contrast is exactly what makes her story compelling.

“My biggest passion is showing women that they can succeed in traditionally male-dominated careers while also pursuing modeling, pageantry, or any dream they have,” she explains.

Her professional ambitions remain firmly rooted in service. Katie hopes to continue advancing as an Emergency Medical Technician and ultimately work in HEMS—Helicopter Emergency Medical Services—where she could make an even greater impact in high-pressure emergency care.

Her personal goals are equally purposeful.

Whether helping someone through her medical career, inspiring women through fashion, or supporting those around her, Katie wants her life to leave a positive mark.

She sees purpose not as something discovered once, but as something that evolves.

“For me, purpose is about helping and inspiring others,” she says. “It grows with you, but at its core, it is about making a positive impact.”

That philosophy also shapes the way she views creativity.

To Katie, the word create means building a life that honestly reflects who you are—creating opportunities, confidence, relationships, and experiences that feel meaningful rather than expected.

Her guiding motto is the Italian phrase:

“Vivere senza rimpianti.”

Live with no regrets.

The words are so important to her that she has them tattooed as a permanent reminder to embrace opportunities, take chances, and avoid looking back with regret.

It is a philosophy that feels especially relevant as Katie looks toward the next stage of her modeling career.

Although she has not yet attended Fashion Week, walking the runway during one of the major international seasons remains a central goal. She is particularly determined to continue developing within runway and commercial modeling, using every opportunity to strengthen her presence and expand her international portfolio.

“Walking at Fashion Week would be an incredible opportunity,” she says. “It would allow me to showcase my passion, be surrounded by creativity, and continue growing within the industry.”

What Katie loves most about fashion is the collaboration behind it—the way designers, models, photographers, stylists, and producers from different backgrounds come together to tell a visual story.

For someone whose life already bridges medicine, fashion, pageantry, fitness, and advocacy, that sense of connection feels natural.

Katie Deegan’s story is not about choosing between responsibility and ambition.

It is about building a life spacious enough for both.

As she prepares to represent Ireland internationally and pursue future runway opportunities, she stands as an example of what can happen when discipline, courage, and purpose move in the same direction.

And for Katie, the next chapter may lead exactly where she has always hoped—to the runway, with no regrets.
