Josie Boulding: At 52, a New Chapter in Fashion Is Just Beginning
For Josie Boulding, creativity has never belonged to just one medium. A writer, photographer, content creator, cookbook author and former television host, the Vancouver-based creative is now turning her attention toward a longtime passion: modeling and fashion.
At 52, Boulding is entering the industry with a perspective shaped by experience and a desire to show other women that style, ambition and reinvention have no expiration date.
Her return to modeling happened unexpectedly. Six months ago, Orange Models reached out to her through Instagram, leading Boulding to sign with the agency and begin exploring opportunities in commercial, print and runway modeling.

Already, the new chapter is gaining momentum. Boulding recently participated in a campaign for Holt Renfrew and Pacific Centre in downtown Vancouver, with additional imagery and video from the project expected this fall.
Yet fashion isn't entirely new territory for her. Boulding modeled when she was younger and last walked a runway at 18. In the years since, she remained close to the industry as an enthusiastic observer, attending fashion shows in New York, Paris and Vancouver.
"I am completely obsessed with the art of fashion," she says.
Creativity Without an Age Limit
Boulding's career has long revolved around storytelling. Her lifestyle television show, restlessjosie, aired for one season in Canada and the United States and inspired the name of her social media presence. More recently, she turned another creative passion into a cookbook, published in 2025.
Now modeling offers her another way to communicate.
For Boulding, fashion has the unusual ability to shape how we experience both ourselves and one another. As an artist, she sees creating as constructing "a new way of perceiving or experiencing the world" and clothing as one of the most immediate ways of expressing that perspective.
Her ambitions include expanding into commercial campaigns, print work and runway, with the long-term dream of potentially developing a fashion brand of her own.
But there is also a larger purpose behind this new chapter.

Boulding wants women to see that confidence doesn't diminish with age; it can become stronger because of it. Watching women in her generation command runways with a confidence and grace earned through experience has become a source of inspiration—and something she hopes to embody herself.
Her message is ultimately simple: women are already enough, and each possesses a beauty entirely her own.
At 52, Josie Boulding isn't trying to recreate the modeling career she could have had at 18. She's discovering the one she can build now and perhaps proving that some of fashion's most compelling stories begin with a second act.
