Paris Runway goes to the stars with CHANEL.... See the 'heaven like' Runway Set for Debut with Matthieu Blazy
The Set, the Stars & the Stage
From the moment guests entered the Grand Palais, it was clear Blazy intended to stage a cosmological overture. The space was dotted with giant, glowing planets suspended throughout the venue, creating an immersive celestial atmosphere. The effect was dreamlike as if one were walking among a quiet, suspended galaxy. The lighting was soft but precise, lending an ethereal aura, while the skyline of planets hovered like witnesses to the show.
Vogue editors speculated the set echoed a “Big Bang” or cosmic origin narrative: in their words, it felt like an invocation of “In the beginning …”
The planets could be read as metaphors... signs of navigating new orbits, breaking old trajectories, or charting fresh constellations for Chanel’s future.
By combining a spatial theme with carefully controlled illumination and music, the set amplified the garments where each look appeared to float under starlight, giving the collection both gravitas and poetry.
Front Row, Ambassadors & Energy in the Room
The guest list read like a constellation of stars: Nicole Kidman, Kendall Jenner, Pedro Pascal, Penélope Cruz, and newly minted Chanel ambassador Ayo Edebiri.
As the final looks emerged and Blazy took his bow, applause turned into a standing ovation... a rare and telling gesture for a debut.
