Hulahan will present “Rapture” at Birmingham Fashion Week 2025
Birmingham Fashion Week has once again become a platform for innovation, individuality, and sustainability and this season, Hulahan stands out as one of the most anticipated presentations. Returning after a successful debut at BFW in 2024, designer Hulahan brings the new collection titled Rapture to both a live model presentation on September 25th and a full catwalk show on September 28th at 6:00 PM.
The Theme: Rapture
At the heart of Hulahan’s Autumn/Winter 2025 collection is the theme Rapture which is a celebration of the changing female form through adaptable, seasonless fashion. This vision honors both the strength and fluidity of women while embracing sustainability and timeless style.
Drawing inspiration from vintage Yves Saint Laurent, Halston, Madeleine Vionnet, and the golden era of Studio 54, the collection blends masculine tailoring with ethereal draping. One muse stands central: Shere Hite, whose groundbreaking work on women’s pleasure defied societal norms and inspires Hulahan’s commitment to female autonomy and empowerment.

Fabrics, Technique, and Sustainability
Innovation drives Hulahan’s process. With a limited supply of army wear and blankets, the designer reworks these utilitarian materials into bold, masculine-inspired garments that carry both history and new life. This repurposing not only reduces waste but also creates unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Another highlight of Rapture is the expansion of Zero Waste spiral-cut dresses, cut on the bias to ensure maximum fabric use. Using 99.5% of the material, these dresses exemplify sustainable craftsmanship while maintaining elegance and movement.
Hulahan’s meticulous research ensures fabrics are durable, functional, and built for longevity—an intentional counterpoint to fast fashion.
Personal Story: Fashion as Power Through Transition
For Hulahan, this collection is deeply personal. Navigating perimenopause, ADHD, and profound emotional and physical changes, the designer has infused Rapture with the spirit of resilience.
“Though this is a difficult time for many women, it may also be the beginning of stepping into full power,” Hulahan shares.
The collection reflects this belief, empowering women through garments that embody adaptability and strength.

The Designer’s Journey
Hulahan’s love for fashion began early, nurtured through studying Fashion History under Lou Taylor at Brighton University. Influences range from French revolutionary fashion to Nigerian design and haute couture, with the works of Celia Birtwell and Ossie Clarke playing a pivotal role. Decades of experience in high-end retail also shaped the brand, emphasizing how the right cut and detail can transform a woman’s presence and confidence.
