Day’sha Jae Is Building a Career Where Fashion, Purpose and Self-Belief Meet
From the runway to mental health advocacy, Massachusetts-based model Day’sha Jae is creating a career that refuses to fit neatly into one category. With experience spanning New York and Los Angeles Fashion Weeks, international editorial features, acting and pageantry, she is now focused on taking her place in fashion to the next level.
For Day’sha Jae, fashion has always been a form of expression. Long before modeling became part of her professional world, clothing, hair and makeup offered a way to communicate personality, creativity and confidence.
At 18, she decided to turn that interest into something more, beginning modeling courses with John Casablancas while simultaneously stepping into pageantry. That same year, she entered the National American Miss Pageant and placed second in its Top Model Competition.
It was an early indication of where fashion might take her but Day’sha was also building another side of her life.
She went on to study psychology and clinical mental health counseling, ultimately earning a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bay Path University. Today, she is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts, balancing a career centered around helping others with an increasingly accomplished presence in fashion and entertainment.
From Massachusetts to Fashion Week
While modeling remained a part-time pursuit during her studies, Day’sha continued building experience. After the pandemic, she began sharing more of that journey publicly online, eventually making the difficult decision to open an Instagram account she had previously kept private because of her work as a therapist.
For her, becoming visible required overcoming some of the same fears that can hold people back from pursuing their ambitions: judgment, perception and the vulnerability that comes with allowing others to see what you are creating.
That decision has coincided with an expanding fashion résumé.
Day’sha has walked Runway 7 during New York Fashion Week, appeared with The Bureau during Los Angeles Fashion Week, modeled during Miami Swim Week and participated in Springfield Fashion Week, alongside numerous productions throughout Boston and Connecticut.
Her editorial accomplishments have also crossed international borders. In September 2025, she appeared in Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam, while her broader publication history includes CanvasRebel, Photohouse Magazine, The Source, Selin and multiple appearances in Lookbook Paris. Her work has also appeared through CFDA Runway360.
Yet Day’sha isn't approaching these achievements as a finish line. Her next objective is clear: to establish herself further as a professional model and secure opportunities that reflect the experience she has built.
More Than One Creative Identity
Modeling is only one dimension of Day’sha's creative career.
She is also an actress with experience across film, streaming projects, music videos and commercial work. Her credits include serving as Associate Producer and Assistant Director on the Connecticut Young Filmmakers Initiative short-film project Am I Wrong, as well as appearing in Divided Loyalty and Speakeasy.
Commercial and modeling work has taken her into beauty, bridal and lifestyle spaces, including projects with Norwich Spa in Connecticut and a bridal editorial with Brianna Gracia Weddings through her mother agency, Tina Kiniry Management.
And another creative chapter is beginning. Day’sha is currently taking vocal lessons with a Grammy-nominated coach as she works toward eventually writing, creating and releasing music of her own.
For someone whose professional life might appear to move between very different worlds... therapy, fashion, acting and music... the connection is actually remarkably consistent: expression, confidence and human connection.
Fashion With Purpose
Away from the runway, Day’sha is a mother to a nine-year-old son, and her faith remains central to how she understands both her life and her ambitions.
She describes purpose as something divine, but also something capable of evolving. Rather than believing a person must be limited to one calling, she sees life as a process in which purpose can expand as we grow.
That perspective aligns closely with her work as a therapist. Whether through a counseling room or a creative platform, Day’sha wants people to recognize their own value, treat themselves and others with greater respect, and understand the impact seemingly small acts of kindness can have.
Her guiding scripture comes from Matthew 19:26: “With God all things are possible.”
It is a philosophy that feels particularly fitting for a woman building several dreams at once.
The Next Chapter for Day’sha Jae
As Day’sha looks ahead, she wants fashion to become an even larger part of her professional life not simply through more bookings, but through opportunities that allow her to connect creativity with something meaningful.
She hopes to expand her community, continue developing her modeling career and explore how fashion can positively influence the way people see themselves and one another.
To Day’sha, creating means taking an idea that belongs to you and giving it a tangible existence in the world. Fashion can do exactly that. A garment begins as an idea. An editorial begins with a concept. A runway begins backstage before eventually becoming something an audience can see.
And perhaps the same can be said for reinvention.
Day’sha Jae has already built careers around helping, performing and creating. Now, as she moves further into fashion, she isn't choosing between those identities—she's allowing each of them to become part of the woman the world is beginning to see.
