CHANEL will return to its iconic Grand Palais with 30 million euro investment
The French fashion house who opened its doors in 1910 is marking its comeback to the Grand Palais with a pledge to contribute 30 million euros to the venue's cultural events.
Chanel, the long-standing patron of the Grand Palais, has renewed its commitment to the Grand Palais for another five years, solidifying its role as the Major Patron of the iconic Parisian landmark. Since 2018, Chanel has supported the Grand Palais’ cultural and artistic programs, and this new investment of 30 million euros will further enhance its artistic influence from 2024 to 2028.
The relationship between Chanel and the Grand Palais, which began in 2005 with Karl Lagerfeld’s imaginative fashion shows, has been a defining feature of both entities. Over the years, the Grand Palais has served as a creative playground for Chanel, hosting monumental events that have captured global attention, from recreating a supermarket to launching a full-scale rocket.

While events such as Chanel’s spring ready-to-wear 2025 show and the Paris+ by Art Basel art fair will be held in the Grand Palais in the fall, renovations are slated to continue into 2025.
Once completed, the Grand Palais complex will once more include the Palais de la Découverte science museum and be the temporary home of the Centre Pompidou as the contemporary art institution undergoes its own renovation.
Remodeled spaces will include the entrances for visitors as well as artworks — the first will be in a newly verdant square just off the Champs-Elysées, while the other was tucked into another leafy avenue nearby. Stables in the underbelly of the building will be turned into a visitor center and other facilities.
