ALICIA NUNN: ON POISE, PURPOSE, AND PURSUING THE RUNWAY DREAM
From the cathedral-like quiet of a university library to the dazzling lights of a fashion runway, Alicia Nunn walks both worlds with grace. Hailing from England and currently studying English Literature at the University of Kent, Alicia is a rising model with dreams as bold as the gowns she wears in front of the camera.
Last month, Alicia took her first major step into the world of pageantry where she entered the Miss Great Britain Kent and Sussex Regional Final. Not only did she secure a Top 10 placement in the pageant, but she also took home the coveted Miss Great Britain Photogenic title which is a moment she calls her greatest accomplishment to date.
“It wasn’t just the award,” she reflects. “It was overcoming anxiety, stepping into the unknown, and finding stillness and joy the moment I walked onto that catwalk.”
That spark, ignited on stage, has since turned into a steadily burning fire. Scouted by a makeup artist in late 2023, Alicia began modelling professionally in April 2024. Her work has primarily focused on bridal and editorial studio shoots, but her ambitions are runway-bound:
“Walking at Fashion Week is my dream,” she says, eyes focused on the future. “It’s my main goal with your firm. I want to make that leap from studio to stage.”
Despite standing at 5'4", Alicia has no intention of shrinking her aspirations to match industry biases. “I’d love to see the height standards in fashion shift,” she shares. “The world is diverse... so should the runway be.”
Alicia is not just a model but she’s a scholar with a passion for Shakespearean literature, and she hopes to pursue both a Master’s and PhD in the subject.
“I find purpose in the pursuit of knowledge and creativity,” she says. “Modeling is an art form. Literature is an art form. Both let me escape reality and explore identity from different angles.”
Her favorite brands include Dior, Chanel, and Swarovski where they aren’t just aspirational names, but sources of aesthetic alignment.
“They embody class, femininity, and a softness I relate to. And they often use pink... my signature color,” she smiles.
Alicia credits her Christian faith for giving her a sense of direction:
“My purpose is to serve and glorify God in all that I do. That includes taking every opportunity with gratitude and courage.”
Whether she’s buried in a novel or gliding down a catwalk, Alicia Nunn is writing a story of authenticity, artistry, and ambition. One that if all goes according to her dreams will someday include a cover shoot with Vogue.
